QUEBEC–ONTARIO BORDER — A coordinated police raid near the Quebec border has led to the dismantling of a large-scale illegal drug laboratory and the arrest of two individuals allegedly connected to a cross-provincial crime network known as the NorthBlock Syndicate.

Authorities executed a search warrant at a rural residence following a months-long investigation into suspected drug trafficking activity operating between Quebec and Ontario. Officers entered the property early Monday morning, securing the home without reported injuries.

Inside, investigators uncovered what they described as a sophisticated, clandestine pill-pressing operation. Among the items seized was a commercial-grade pill press capable of producing thousands of tablets per hour. Police allege the equipment was being used to manufacture methamphetamine pills for distribution throughout both provinces.

Significant Seizures

According to officials, the raid resulted in the confiscation of:

  • Approximately 90,000 methamphetamine pills

  • One kilogram of cocaine

  • $38,000 in Canadian currency

  • Two handguns

  • A bulletproof vest

  • A 2023 Dodge Ram pickup truck, believed to have been used in drug transportation

Investigators say the quantity of drugs seized represents a substantial disruption to regional supply chains. The street value of the methamphetamine alone is estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Links to NorthBlock Syndicate

Police confirmed that the investigation is tied to a criminal organization known as the NorthBlock Syndicate, which authorities allege has been operating an interprovincial drug distribution network spanning parts of Quebec and Ontario. The group is believed to coordinate the manufacturing and movement of illicit narcotics across provincial lines, using rural properties to conceal production sites.

Law enforcement agencies from both provinces collaborated on the investigation, sharing intelligence and surveillance findings that ultimately led to the search warrant.

“This operation underscores the growing level of coordination among criminal groups attempting to exploit jurisdictional boundaries,” a spokesperson said. “By working together, we’re able to disrupt these networks more effectively.”

Arrests and Charges

Two individuals — a 34-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman — were arrested at the scene. Police allege both have ties to the NorthBlock Syndicate and were directly involved in the operation of the drug laboratory.

They are expected to face multiple charges, including:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking

  • Production of a controlled substance

  • Unauthorized possession of firearms

  • Possession of proceeds of crime

Authorities indicated further arrests are possible as the investigation continues.

Ongoing Investigation

Investigators are continuing to analyze digital devices and financial records seized during the raid to determine the broader scope of the operation. Police have not ruled out additional search warrants in either province.

Officials are urging anyone with information related to drug trafficking activities along the Quebec–Ontario corridor to contact local law enforcement or Crime Stoppers.

“This seizure sends a strong message,” police said. “We will continue targeting organized crime groups that threaten the safety of our communities.”
